ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Winona Goodfellows Fund has been in existence for more than 100 years, providing countless Winona-area children with warm winter clothing and footwear.

We currently provide more than 800 vouchers each fall to income-eligible children in grades preschool through eight enrolled in Winona County schools.

Our partners are all of the public and private schools in the Winona community. We extend our program into Winona County through partnerships with Project FINE and the St. Charles Resource Center.

Winona Goodfellows is a nonprofit fund administered by the Winona Community Foundation. This program runs fully on donations from individuals and organizations across the community – we welcome your support in any amount! Please visit the GIVE page to learn more and to donate.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Applications for Goodfellows vouchers begin in the fall. Printed applications are distributed through Winona-area schools, and the online application opens. Families have the choice to apply either online or by using the printed form that comes home with their child.

When applying, parents/guardians must enter their children’s school, grade, and that they meet grade level and household income guidelines.

Eligible parents/guardians will receive a voucher for each eligible child in 2-4 weeks after the application is submitted. The voucher will be mailed to their home address. The voucher is valid through December 31 at Winona stores listed on the voucher. Vouchers are good for children’s jackets, coats, boots, shoes, mittens, gloves and other clothing.
